I wanted to play this game for a while before I made a review to give a fair review.
First of all, I bought the game because I like games bundled with little toys. I really enjoyed Sega Bass Fishing, as well as the Bass Pro Shops Fishing.
That said, this game is in another class. First problem I had was with the rod attachment. Half the time you’re driving the boat, and it feels awkward with this attachment. Secondly, the nunchuck cord kept getting tangled. I ditched the attachment within the first hour. OKAY, now we’re talking! The game’s objective is different from any other fishing game. You must catch fish by going to a designated bubble point and fish. You must have the right bait, because if you don’t the fish will look at the bait with question marks around it’s head. So you switch baits until the fish eyes pop out and exclamation points appear around the fish. You reel in the fish, the nunchuck cord still gets tangled and you reel the fish in. There is a problem with this process at the later levels though. You must move the wiimote the same way as the on-screen diagram. The only problem is the wiimote must be turned sideways and then you shake it to the left or right. Moving the wiimote sideways and to the left is a very awkward and uncomfortable movement. After you reel the fish in, you drive back to your starting point and drop the fish off.
Driving the boat is another BIG problem. you must direct the boat by way of wiimote. the wiimote only turns the boat like 45 degrees. So what happens is you crash into barriers. Also, when you back the boat up, the wiimote seems to turn the boat the wrong way.
As the game goes on, you can unlock your Mii, but your Mii cannot be used in Tournament Mode, only in the Free Fishing Mode
Overall, graphically very pleasing, but with all the aforementioned problems, the fun factor suffers.

This game is fun, after you figure it out. Directions are a little vain. also no direction on how the fishing pool goes together. Once you get everything figured out on your own. It’s a fun game. If it was not for that I would have given it a 5 star.

The fishing action of the game is very fun, but the added “rod and reel” for the controller and nunchuck is not worth the money. The game works just fine (almost better) without it.

The game is very well made, it has nice graphics, no violence and just sheer fun to play. We’ve been Wii fans from the beginning of this console and I admit that this game stands out from the crowd.

My 7-yrs old son loves this game almost as much as he loves the real fishing on the lake! He got it among other birthday presents and it was an instant favorite. Contrary to other posts he doesn’t seem to experience any difficulties in using the fishing rod appliance. The nunchuck wire doesn’t get entangled either. I guess it depends on how fiercely you reel the fish in

I bought this a gift for my hubby for Valentine’s Day. I went through several reviews of other fishing games and Wii-mote fishing rods. This game had the best reviews. He has played it everyday non-stop since he received it. He loves it. My 13 year old step-son is getting into it as well. There are challenges that help keep the game fun. And the multi-player modes are fun too! My husband says that it is better than the real thing because he actually catches fish on the game.
