Review by W. Weita for Official Nintendo and Star Wars Wii Clone Trooper Blaster
Rating:
This just isn’t a good option if you’re looking for a gun to use with your Wii.
Here’s what I don’t like about it:
-In order to fit properly into the gun barrel, the Wii controller must be in a silicon protector. That wouldn’t seem like much of an issue, but it has to be a silicon protector WITHOUT the MotionPlus add-on. NOTE: If the only silicon protector you have is the one that comes with the MotionPlus controller it will not fit. I removed the MotionPlus from the silicon sleeve but the protector is still too big and won’t allow the door that covers the extra cord to close properly.
-To be fair, you have the option to order a free silicon protector. I decided to return my blaster and don’t know how long it would take to get one shipped.
-There’s not enough room provided around the joystick. It’s a tight fit and your thumb feels restricted.
-The trigger sits pretty low in the space provided. It’s not blocked, but your trigger finger slides along the trigger guard. I suppose that could be a plus for some.
-Overall, the Blaster feels too long. The cramped space around the joystick and trigger guard may not be an issue for a child, but as an adult I felt like I was stretching a good distance if I wanted to access the buttons on the controller and nunchuck. My guess is an average child would have to strain further than they would like to.
On the plus side:
-At $15 it’s one of the least expensive options out there.
-The Blaster comes with a big sheet of stickers that most young Star Wars fans are sure to enjoy!

My grandson said he likes the gun a lot. He is 6 years old, and it took him some time to figure out how to work it because the buttons on it are not what you normally would use. He actually used the gun for a short while but then went back to the controller because it was easier to use,and he was more comfortable with it. On the other hand, his dad thought the gun was fun to use, but said during the first part of the game you don’t even use it. It’s the “cool factor” to shoot it.

This gun seems ok, but in Retrospect I think the Wii Zapper would have been better. The Game Republic heroes was a major disappointment it seemed like you were always doing random jump movements everywhere…

The gun looks pretty cool. It might be fun to use with the House Of The Dead games or other arcade shooter type games. But, this was released to play with a game that is not a ‘shooter’. It’s supposed to be used with the Star Wars Clone Wars for the Wii. The problem is that this game is a really poor platform game and you can not play it with this gun.

Where to begin. This sequel to the great Ready 2 Rumble on the Sega Dreamcast is an abomination. The controls are broken and don’t recognize your swings and the characters that were added to this version are lame parodies of celebrities.
Avoid.

I have both original versions for the Sega Dreamcast, and I was really looking forward to this version. However it was an absolute disappointment. The game play and characters are very stiff, the controls are horrible (you initiate moves you don’t want to do). The graphics are awful, the original two’s graphics are far better and they were on a 128 bit system. Overall this game should have never been released and I for one would not recommend anyone buy this!!

Turns out the boxing game from WII Sports is way better than Ready to Rumble:Revolution. The controls don’t read your swings and jabs. Forget trying to train up your ‘create a boxer’ because your boxer will fail miserably. Do not buy this game!

Once you learn how to do the motion controls, anyone can enjoy this game. No game has been able to pick up people freeform punching with the Wii, you have to adjust to the game. At a price of less than $10 it is worth it. R2R is the least frustrating boxing game I have played on the Wii. The problem I have run into is when your boxer gets near the end of his career – he is nearly unbeatable. Practice and learn and this game can be fun. I have gotten to the point that I can be working out on an elliptical and still win matches.

Once again I thought I was getting a bargain picking this up for less than $10 in the ‘bargain bin’. Once again, I was wrong. As all the other reviews have pointed out, the game is basically broken. The controls just do not work. In order to do most punches, you need to do various moves with the Wii controller. The problem is, they are impossible. Not ‘hard impossible’, but just impossible due to the fact the Wii controllers can not react accurately enough to perform them. I’m convinced that this game was never even tested before release. Save your money.
